PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION

 

Psychiatric evaluations, provided by our licensed psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, are comprehensive evaluations that determine a diagnosis,  make treatment recommendations, and asses the potential need for psychotropic medication. 

ASSESSMENT

Our outpatient clients will meet with an intake clinician for a detailed assessment. The clinician will gather pertinent details to provide a client-based assessment. During the interview process, the clinician will take a thorough look at current mental issues the patient is experiencing. This includes learning the psycho-social history of the patient and their current or previous use of substances. The assessment will include any psychiatric evaluation recommendations, Targeted Case Management strategies and medication services.

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Medication management entails using prescribed psychotropic medication for the treatment of various psychiatric illnesses. Medication is prescribed using the most reliable protocols, based on research and evidence of effectiveness. We establish our protocols in coordination with the professional services, therapists and treatments provided at Florida Behavioral Services. With medication management, our medical staff is able to monitor medication and treatment, which minimizes harmful side effects. Managing medication is vital for patients who are taking more than one prescribed treatment to ensure that the medications do not have a negative reaction with one another.

GROUP THERAPY

 

Patients will develop interpersonal skills and problem-solving strategies. Groups will be available and offer to clients  the necessary tools to enhance their progress and to draw on the wisdom of others with similar goals. The groups will vary depending on what goals the group will focus on towards reaching a particular goal which will make an impact on each member's   lives and roles in their lives;  such as managing fears and phobias.                                                                                   

PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION

 

A service designated to help adults with psychiatric disabilities to increase their functionality; in order for them to be successful and satisfied in the environment of their choice with the least amount of on-going professional intervention. PSR focuses on developing the skills and resources related to life in the community and to increasing the patient's ability to live a more independent life, and to manage his/her illness while living with as little professional intervention as possible and be able to fully partake in the available opportunities within their respective communities, related to functional,social, educational, and vocational goals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INDIVIDUAL &

FAMILY THERAPY

Provides treatment in the form of cognitive, behavioral insight oriented, evidence-based supportive therapy. The patient and the therapist will identify the best approach to achieve the patient’s goals and will evaluate his/her progress throughout treatment.

CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

 

FBS provides Case Management services to children, adolescents, and adults with multiple and complex needs. The primary goal of mental health targeted case management is to connect clients with needed services, including medical, social, educational, mental health, housing, insurance, employment, financial, and other

services, so they can function as independently as possible in their communities.

 

Case managers coordinate the provision of quality treatment and support services in the most efficient and helpful way possible, advocate for their clients’ needs, and follow up to ensure service effectiveness. Our focused attention and devoted care for those we serve help to define the quality of case management services we aim to provide each day.
